BBBC Review: The Rosie Project

It’s December already?!  I feel like it was just yesterday we were planning our Disney getaway in July.  Time sure has flown by!

The November read was selected by Ashley from A Rich Adventure.  She chose The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion.

The Rosie Project - BBBC

Dr. Don Tillman suffers from symptoms associated with a strand of Autism.  Don is socially challenged and emotionally unrelatable.  However, he does not allow any of that stop him from living life.

As his fortieth birthday approaches, Don decides that it is time to find a compatible life partner.   What better way to find “her” than with a questionnaire?  He designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.

Little does Don know, he is going to find the complete opposite of what he is looking for.  Rosie Jarman is everything Don does not want.  After being intrigued by Rosie, Don realizes that despise all of the science and mathematical equations, you can’t just find love, it finds you.

Although this was a challenging read to begin, it was a great and funny book.

“Filled with humor and plenty of heart, The Rosie Project is a delightful reminder that all of us, no matter how we’re wired, just want to fit in” (Chicago Tribune).
