BBBC Review: The Year We Left Home

This post comes to you a bit late, as I have been overcome with excitement for our upcoming vacation!  (FINALLY!!)

For June, Heather (Love To Be Busy) chose the book, The Year We Left Home by Jean Thompson.

The Year We Left Home

This particular story is set in the 1970s and follows the Erickson siblings as they deal with life..the year they left home.

To be honest, I had to make myself read this book.  I am not one for reading many pieces of this type, but I did give this one a try and was disappointed as there were too many characters to follow and the story line was a bit confusing to grasp.

However, for July, I was able to pick the club’s book!  This month I chose, Paper Towns by John Green.  I loved his book, The Fault in Our Stars, so I am excited to read Paper Towns!

The Beauty Blogger Book Club began in January of 2015! We currently have 6 Members with various blog content. Each month, one of the Beauty Blogger Book Club (BBBC) members chooses a book for the Club to read. At the beginning of the following month, we each write a book report/summary for our readers to enjoy and share the book for the following month! The “Club” provides all of us bloggers an opportunity to network and read books outside of our comfort zones!

  1. I tried to read along with you guys this month, but I also struggled to get into The Year We Left Home. I only made it though about one-third of it… And now that I’m learning from you all that it never gets exciting, I’m losing my motivation to finish it. I have read Paper Towns, and I loved it. Great pick! If you enjoy John Green books, you’ll also like his book Looking for Alaska.

  2. How awesome?! Thanks for reading along 🙂 I just finished they book because I hate starting a book then leaving it high and dry. I loved The Fault in our Stars, so I am crossing my fingers that Paper Towns doesn’t disappoint.
