A few weeks ago, I was spending time with my ADORABLE toddler niece. She had just woken up from a nap and since we were spending the day outdoors, she insisted she have a popsicle for a snack. We walked over to the deep freeze at the campground and she got what she wanted! Excitement took over her face – then, she decided to do something else and put her popsicle on the picnic table in the smoldering sun, left only to be forgotten. Ten minutes later, she obviously decided she was ready to finish eating her popsicle. When she went to pick it up it was melted off the stick – it didn’t stand a chance in the sun.
How often do we find ourselves learning lessons from toddlers?
As a coach’s wife, we are not guaranteed to keep this current situation forever. Enjoy it because before you know it – in an instant – your ice cream could melt.
